Overview of fail-safe function
The output from any output terminal can be changed when
communication is linked down or there is no access for a fixed time.
It is also possible to output up to 8 patterns of data in turn
or to output setting patterns repeatedly.
The output terminal used with the fail-safe function can also be used normally like other output terminals.
As for the output terminals used with the fail-safe function,
normal output can not be performed while outputting with the fail-safe
function.
It is necessary to execute the reset function or restart the
device to reset the fail-safe state and return to normal operation.
This utility can also reset the fail-safe state. Please refer to the following link.

Devices that can use fail-safe function
For devices that can use this function, refer to "Device Connection".
Use case of the fail-safe function, examples of setting
The following are use cases of this function. please refer.
Use case 1 and Use case 2 can be realized only by setting
of "FailSafe" tab.
For Use case 3, check "Output Multi Data" and also
make settings on "FailSafe(MultiData)" tab.
Use case 1 Notify other equipment when failure occurs
Examples of setting 1-1 Set output terminal 0 output to 1
|
Examples of setting 1-2 Set the output terminal 0 output to 0 and the output terminal 3 output to 1 |
Use case 2 Change the output to 0 when failure occurs
Examples of setting 2-1 Set output terminals 0 to 3 to 0 |
Examples of setting 2-2 Set output terminals 0, 5, 6, and 7 to 0 |
Use case 3 Operate LED etc. when failure occurs
Examples of setting 3-1 Turn output terminal 0 ON / OFF 10 times at 1-second intervals
|
Examples of setting 3-2 The output terminals 6 and 7 are alternately turned ON / OFF at intervals of 2 seconds
|
*In the case of DIO-0404LY-WQ, the number of output terminals
is 4, so Example of setting 2-2 and 3-2 can not be performed.
*For DIO-1616LN-ETH and DIO-1616RYN-ETH, please input "FailSafe
OutBit" and "Output Data" with 4 digits. (Enter "0001"
for "1")
