Device Name Setting/Network Setting
1. After LAN connecting your PC and this device, start the CONTEC Device Utility.
2. When this device is newly detected, "(New) DIO-1616RYN-ETH" will be displayed in the "NET" tree, and the temporary device name is displayed in the light yellow "Device Name".
3. Set the following "Setting item" and click the "Save"
button.
The target device will automatically reboot and the settings
will be applied.
The setting itself has been completed so far.
4. The configured device is indicated as "[device name] DIO-1616RYN-ETH", and the device name is displayed in the white "Device Name".
5. If you select this configured device, the "Diagnosis" button
will be enabled.
Clicking this button will start Diagnostic program and
check the operation.

Utility > Diagnosis Program" to know more details.
6. If you want to change the setting contents, please click "Save" again after changing.

*1 When the Group ID is 8, the unit ID depends on the setting of the
unit rotary switch and cannot be changed by the utility.
If Group ID is A, set the unit ID here.
*2 Please make appropriate settings for these settings according to your network environment.
Fail-Safe Setting
1. After LAN connecting your PC and this device, start the CONTEC Device Utility.
2. Set the following "Setting item" on the "FailSafe"
tab.
To output multiple data with fail-safe, check "Output
Multi Data" and make settings on the "FailSafe(MultiData)"
tab as well.
3. Click the "Save" button.
The target device will automatically reboot and the settings
will be applied.

Repeat |
After outputting the number of data set with "patterns", set whether to repeat output from 1 of "Output Data" again. If you do not repeat, select "1 time". To repeat infinitely, select "Infinite". It can also be repeated a certain number of times, the setting range is 2 to 255 times. |
Firmware Update
1. Turn off the power of this device and set the Group ID to "E".
2. After LAN connecting your PC and this device, start the CONTEC Device Utility.
3. When this device is detected with Group ID "E", "DIO-ETH-TYPE2" is displayed in the "Setting mode" tree.
4. When selecting a device, "Current version" shows the current firmware version.
5. When clicking "Write new firmware", a file selection dialog
is displayed.
Please select the firmware file to be written.
After writing, the target device automatically restarts
and the new firmware will be applied.
Firmware update itself has been completed so far.
6. Re-launching the utility will redetect the device.
Please confirm that the version of "Current version"
has been updated.
* For DIO-1616RYN-ETH, when setting Group ID to "E", the IP
address of this device will be fixed at "192.168.0.1", so
consider this when using it through a router.
* When updating more than one device, please operate one by one.
