IFC

Interface Clear. One of the management lines for GPIB.

The controller uses the IFC line to send a signal to initialize interface functions on all devices.
The IFC signal is sent as a pulse of at least 100 μs.

Each device receives this signal and resets interface functions to their initial state.
It is used for setting talker, listener and controller to their initial states.

However, components that are unique to each device (device functions,)
such as buffer content, are not initialized. (Device function components are initialized via the device clear command or a unique device command.)
